(HealthDay News) reported what I feared. More than half of toddlers are not being checked for developmental delays. Time is the excuse that these pediatricians have given for not doing formal developmental screening. Benefits from early intervention is lost. Parents must be proactive in bringing up developmental concerns.
(Sfari's Deborah Rudacille) reports that the symptoms of Asperger looks slightly different in girls than in boys. The study in RIDD suggests that HF girls are being diagnosed later or are altogether missed. This may be the reason that Asperger is diagnosed 8x more in boys than in girls (autism is 4x). Girls are generally diagnosed around the age of 10 and boys at 8. Girls may be "protected from the effects of rare genetic variants that seem to cause autism in boys. Girls who have the disorder tend to have large deletions and duplications of DNA and have more severe symptoms." Autism has been referred to as the extreme [testosterone?]male brain, perhaps caused by exposure to abnormally high levels of testosterone in utero.

Are We There Yet?
Asking, Why, God? We are all alike in that none of us are immune from suffering, struggles...tribulations...adversary...distress. Yet our suffering makes us feel separate. These tribulations come in all different kinds of packaging. Wrapped up as a diagnosis, terminated relationship, human error consequence, monetary or emotional depletion.
The ordeal may have not have happened to us personally. Worse yet, it may have afflicted one that we love more than life itself.
"Never sacrifice what you don't know for what you DO know!" (says Jack Graham).
Good grief is one that becomes a hope seeker. Follow the Light of hope. Who hopes for what he sees? Are we there yet?
Keep on keeping on! Don't let the paralysis of analysis stop you. Keep your eyes on the Prize!
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. ---2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NKJV)

Blindsided!!!!
Didn't see that coming? Telling God that this was not how you planned it? That's what's going on with many of us.
Knocked down, but getting up with the strength of our faith, friends and family!
Maybe we have more to learn about "Why, God?" - a new book written by lecturers in the Biblical Theology of Suffering, Disability and the Church class at Dallas Theological Seminary.

The Maker's Diet
As many of my friends are having serious health issues, I am focusing on a healthier lifestyle. There are neurotransmitters (i.e. serotonin, dopamine, glutamate, norepinephrine and nitric oxide) in the 'gut'. Thus our gut is responsible for how we feel. I'm getting serious about what I put in my stomach!
Did you know...
1. There are two minerals in table salt and sixty-four minerals in Natural Celtic Sea Salt.
2. We lose half a liter of water a day through breathing. You know, like the water vapor we breathe onto glass. Drink more. You need at least half of your body weight in ounces. For example, a 120 lb woman would need at least 60 ounces.
3. Breathe more. We breathe in about 7 quarts of air every minute!
4. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is found in some cosmetics and shampoos and can form a carcinogenic nitrate and dioxin, which enter the circulatory system.
5. Every month you grow a brand new outer layer of skin..."a new you"?

When Hydroplaning: Focus on Your Destination
Hydroplaning in Stormy Conditions
Losing control of your life is analogous to losing control of your car on wet pavement. Hydroplaning is completely nerve-wracking.
Hydroplaning in life happens when the desires of the flesh build up faster than your spiritual condition. The pressure causes a sensation that allows you to feel that you can rise up and slide on this thin layer independently.
Taking these simple tips into account can save your life.
1. You can prevent skids in life by driving slowly and carefully, especially on curves. Allow the Lord to steer and brake with His light touch. Pay attention to His prompting.
2. If you do find yourself in a skid, remain calm, ease your foot off the gas, and keep your eyes focused in the direction you want to end up.
3. If you find yourself hydroplaning, do not brake or turn suddenly from friends and family that desire the best for you. This could throw your life into a skid.
4. Avoid hydroplaning in life by keeping your spiritual life inflated with God's Word. Maintain good quiet times with the Lord. Don't put this off. Slow down and stay away from temptations. Drive in the direction towards God's instruction.

Gold is Purified by Fire
The furnace is heated up. The gold is placed in the kettle and the fire is turned up until the gold begins to boil. The Goldsmith skims the dross that has come to the top then He looks within the gold to see if he can see His reflection. If He cannot, He turns the fire up higher. He skims the dross that comes to the top and takes a look again ... The purer the gold the more He can see His reflection.
Trust in your Lord and do not be surprised at the fiery trials that have come to test you. James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
